The Government of Georgia signed an agreement on Thursday on the construction of the Magana and Lekarede cascade with the Turkish company ATAS CONSTRUCTION AND INDUSTRY, Business Georgia reports.
The Magana hydroelectric power plant will have a capacity of 20.6 MW, while the Lekarde hydropower plant will have 20 MW capacity. Construction work will begin in May 2013 and will be completed in January 2016. The project cost is estimated at $60 million.
