The Director General of the Iran Khodro Group, Javad Nadzhmeddin, said that they will open the Iran Khodro Azerbaijan Car Factory at Azershehr Shakhrestan in East Azerbaijan Province in Iran in two months, IRNA reports.
The facility will produce the Peugeot 207 and Peugeot 206.
The director general expressed satisfaction with construction progress and noted that the factory will produce up to 200,000 vehicles annually.
Nadzhmeddin stated that the factory will initially assemble vehicles and then open a paintworks facility.
The factory is located near the Shakhrestan industrial zone. Specialists say the first stage of the factory operation would provide jobs for about 2,500 people.
