Iran's electricity grid will integrate with Europe's, Iran News reports the head of the Iranian Electricity Generation, Transmission and Distribution Company, Homayun Hareri, as saying.
He did not specify the technology to be used to connect the two different systems.
Europe became interested in the project after an announcement by Iran's deputy energy minister at the beginning of October about the privatisation of the country's electricity.
Hareri told ISNA that the country was focusing on exports, including to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Pakistan and Iraq.
