Iran has put forward a draft resolution at a UN General Assembly meeting of the Committee on Disarmament and International Security. 107 countries voted in favor, while the US, Israel and several Western states voted against.
The resolution, entitled "Monitoring the implementation of commitments in the framework of conferences on the Review of NPT of 1995, 2000 and 2010," has been put forward four times in the last 8 years in the Security Council. It urges the countries with nuclear weapons to accelerate the pace of implementation of commitments by the complete destruction of stockpiles.
