Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin confirmed today Russia's readiness to invest approximately $ 500 million in building the power line from Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan at a meeting of Prime Ministers of the SCO countries, ITAR-TASS reports.
According to the head of the Russian government, the project received a positive assessment of the World Bank. The total project cost has not yet been determined, but Russia will be ready to invest in this project at least half a billion dollar.
The CASA-1000 project involves export of electricity from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
