Russia is considering the construction of new nuclear power units at Bushehr, said today the head of state corporation "Rosatom" Sergey Kiriyenko at a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian government, RIA Novosti reported.
During the meeting, Kiriyenko reported to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on the opening of the Bushehr nuclear plant. Putin asked whether the Iranians had expressed any wishes to construct more units and Kiriyenko confirmed that they had.
At the same time Kiriyenko added that the construction of the new units would require changes in the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and Iran. This issue is currently being considered at a diplomatic level.
