Georgia receives 19 million euros for regional development from the European Union

The EU has allocated a grant for 19 million euros to Georgia for the implementation of reforms in the country in the framework of the "Support of reforms in Georgia's Regional Development" program, ITAR-TASS reports. The agreement was signed today in Tbilisi.

The EU financial assistance is expected to be directed at the implementation of various infrastructure projects, development of a strategy of regional development, training and education of local personnel and introduction of high-tech innovation. In particular, the funds will be used for the construction hospitals and gas and water supply systems of local importance in regions of Georgia.
