Azerbaijani-Swiss talks will stress the fulfillment of the memorandum for understanding signed in 2007, APA reports.
The talks were held with Doris Leuthard, head of the Swiss Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications in Baku.
The Swiss delegation met Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Minister for Energy and Industry Natig Aliyev and Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources Husein Bagirov.
They discussed realization of energy projects, private investments and promotion of cooperation. Special attention was paid to the TAP project. The TAP project involves transport of 10 billion cubic meters of gas to Italy through Turkey, Greece and Albania. It is to be realized in 2017.
Luethard expressed hope for further improvement of ties between Azerbaijan and Switzerland. She underlined that Azerbaijan is the second most reliable partner of Switzerland for import of oil. Switzerland is interested in perspective gas imports from Azerbaijan as well, the department head notes, 1news.az reports.
