Iran expects positive reaction from Russia on uranium agreement

Tehran is counting on an effective and positive reaction from Moscow on the realization of the Tehran trilateral agreement on the exchange of low-enriched uranium (up to 3,5%) for highly-enriched (up to 20%) on the territory of Turkey, the Iranian news agency Fars reports, with reference to the Foreign Ministry.

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on Russia and the US to support the uranium exchange agreement between Iran, Turkey and Brazil. The day after the agreement was signed US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated that Washington, Moscow and Beijing had come to agreement on a new UN resolution on Iran, RIA Novosti reports.

Ahmadinejad also criticized the US and Russia. According to him, the actions taken by the Russian government perplex Iran, making Iran wonder whether Russia is a friendly country to Iran and supports it.
