Turkey ponders development of nuclear energy

Turkey plans to use all types of energy facilities to produce electricity and is considering the development of nuclear energy, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the Black Sea Energy Forum on Thursday, Trend reports.


Turkey plans to become one of the Top 10 advanced economies of the world by 2023, which would require development of nuclear energy.


The prime minister noted that security will be a priority within the framework of nuclear developments.


Mohammad Javad Larijani, head of the Supreme Council of Iran for Human Rights, head of the Iranian Institute for Physics and Mathematics, said that Iran would share its nuclear technologies with neighbor states and offers help in building the Turkish nuclear power plant.Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said, however, that Turkey has no plans for nuclear development with Iran.
