Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has introduced the deal on free trade with the CIS, signed in Saint-Petersburg on October 18, to the parliament for ratification, RIA Novosti reports.
Medvedev has appointed Deputy Minister for Economic Development Andrey Slepnev as official presidential representative for ratification of the document.
The council of heads of governments of the CIS approved the deal. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin clarified that the document will lift export and import duties for certain goods.
