Azerbaijani investors view dam project on Andiyskoye Kosyu River

The Russian-Azerbaijani economic forum in Makhachkala “Sulaksky HydroCascade” has presented an investment project for construction of medium and large dams on the Andiyskoye Koysu River, RIA Dagestan reports.


Chief Engineer of the Sulaksky HysroCascade, Baysar Gajimagomayev, talked about benefits of construction and technical-economic peculiarities. The total potential of the dams is over 30.1 billion KW per hour. Another forecast is 40 billion KW per hour.


24 stations are to be built on the river basin of Sulak and Samur should reach 12.7 billion KW per hour.
The project is beneficial for the reconstructed Makhachkala-Botlikh road and industrial basis of the Shamilkala Village. Local high-skilled staff are a great benefit for realization of construction.


Dams on highland rivers would benefit economy of Dagestan. Current property tax and payments for water resources of the republic and local budgets give 1.7 billion rubles annually. The sum will rise multifold with realization of the new projects.
