The 17th International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference incorporating Refining & Petrochemicals has been opened in Baku today, vesti.az report.
The attention of the international oil and gas industry will be focused on Baku for the Caspian region's biggest trade. The exhibition will unite thousands of professionals in the global oil and gas sector. The history of Azerbaijan, which is the cradle of the global oil industry, and the attention of the country's leadership to the event and the industry, are factors in the success of the exhibition and conference. The prestige of the exhibition is underlined by the annual participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Ilham Aliyev, in the official opening ceremony.
This year, Caspian Oil and Gas will bring together 280 companies from 26 countries, increasing the exhibition area by 15% compared with last year. Over 40% of the exhibition space will be taken up by internationally known companies, most of which are regular exhibitors at Caspian Oil and Gas. They include: Itochu, OMV Gas International GmbH, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Statoil ASA, Total, TPAO and many others. Among the other exhibitors are national group stands from the UK, China and Russia.
