The Russian Federal Service for Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare will send experts to monitor Georgian enterprises shipping wine to Russia. Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onischenko said that the experts will visit the Sarajishvili Company producing cognac on Tuesday, Interfax reports.
Seven Georgian companies are ready to start wine sales in Russia, Onischenko says.
Russia banned Georgian wine and mineral water in 2006 over alleged quality issues. Onischenko has recently said that sales of Georgian wine and mineral water may start in late 2011.
