Participants of the EU summit in Brussels have approved amendments to the Union, which include improvement of control over budget funds and state debts of all members, RIA Novosti reports.
A new agreement is to be signed between the 17 states of the euro zone and all other states willing to join the Union. The UK blocked the budget control initiative and does not want a single European currency.
The summit of EU leaders approved a common economic policy of the euro zone. So far they have no mechanism for joint economic actions with the single currency. The issue is usually discussed with the European Commission. The euro zone is suffering from recession. Analysts started talks on Greece leaving the zone in autumn.
