In Azerbaijan, there is no tendency to reduce the forest area, said Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Huseyn Bagirov, reports Trend.
"Gasification of settlements, the use of renewable energy have led to the significant reduction in cutting the trees for firewood. In order to prevent the reduction of the forest areas we conduct intensive tree-planting operation, which succeeded in breaking the trend of decrease of green areas," said the Minister.
International experts have confirmed the increase of forest fund of Azerbaijan by 0.4 percent, he said.
