In the first three quarters of 2011. Azerbaijan invested in Georgia
$40.4 million dollars, reports Trend, referring to the National
Statistics Service of Georgia.
In the first quarter, Azerbaijan's investments amounted to 11.7 million,
in the second 13.2 million and in the third quarter 15.5 million dollars.
The direct investments of Azerbaijan to the Georgian economy are
constantly growing. They make up to six percent of the total foreign
direct investment.
It should be noted that foreign direct investment in Georgia in the
third quarter of 2011 amounted to 266 million dollars which is 66
percent more than last year.
As a result, during the three quarters of this year foreign direct
investment amounted to 643.0 million dollars.
This year, the most investment were made by the Netherlands - 134.7
million dollars, Denmark - 99.8 million dollars, Cyprus - 80.8 million
dollars, Turkey - 67.9 million dollars.
The biggest investments are in the energy sector - 32 percent, the
financial sector - 19 percent, industry - 11 percent, real estate - 8
percent, transport and communications - 6 percent.
