Iran increases gas exports


The Deputy Director General of the National Iranian Gas Company Keshkuli,  visited the Gilan Province to participate in the ceremony of bringing into service a new gas pipeline and said that this year Iran has increased its gas exports, reports Armenia Today.

According to Keshkuli, since the beginning of this year from Iran to Turkey and Armenia was supplied an average of 26 million cubic meters of gas daily. This is a 21% increase in comparison with last year's figures.

Increase of export of Iranian gas occurred simultaneously with a reduction of 21% of gas import from Turkmenistan.

Keshkuli emphasized that increasing exports and decreasing imports come in the case  when there are no problems with domestic consumers gas provision. Meanwhile, since the beginning of this year the volume of gas consumption in Iran itself has increased by 7%.
