Georgian Agriculture Minister Zaza Gorozia has opened a grain terminal in the port of Poti, Business Georgia reports.
The facility was opened within the framework of cooperation of the ministry and the BUNGE international trading company. The terminal will hold 22,000 tons of grain at first, the capacity will be further increased to 250,000 tons.
A vacuum-turbo system will allow 30,000-35,000 tons of grain to be unloaded and loaded in the first quarter of 2012. Georgia will be able to receive grain shipments from Central Asia, store it and transport to other states.
