Even though no foreign currency trading was conducted at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Wednesday, the US Dollar gained some value in the country’s cash foreign currency market, News.am reports.
Some exchange offices raised by a half Armenian Dram (AMD), and thus up to AMD 381.5 for $1, the purchase exchange rate of the dollar. The sale price of the dollar was practically stopped at AMD 383, and its purchase rate starts at AMD 384.
To note, the exchange rate has a calmer performance towards this New Year, and there are no abrupt fluctuations so far. It is noteworthy that the Central Bank is not intervening in the exchange rate with any specific activeness. And as case in point, last week the Bank did not conduct any foreign currency trading at the stock exchange.
