US offers new energy markets to states of South Caucasus

Washington is ready to give assistance in opening new oil-and-gas
markets to the states of the South Caucasus and Central Asia, special
representative of the US State Department on energy issues in Eurasia
Richard Morningstar said.
"We support the aspirations of these countries towards diversification
of energy supply routes. We will render all possible assistance in
establishing a new southern route which will provide Europe with
Caspian gas" - Morningstar said, speaking at th 17th International
conference "Caspian Oil and Gas", Interfax-Azrbaijan reports.
The diplomat also noted that the US is ready to establish closer
cooperation with Russia in the energy sector.
