Georgia has realized $200 million in construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, Trend cites Georgian Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure Ramaz Nikolaishvili.
The minister noted that construction is going according to schedule and the railway section towards Turkey will be built on time. Most work will be done in 2012. The railway will be connected with Europe in 2013.
Nikolaishvili underlined that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is among top 100 world projects. The railway will be 245 km long, 175 km of which will run through Georgia. The project is realized by Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
