Tourists spent $ 2.5 billion in Georgia in 2011

Within 11 months of 2011, foreign tourists spent $ 2.5 billion in Georgia, Business-Georgia reports.

According to the deputy chairman of the agency of tourism, the number of tourists increased by 40 percent as compared to the last year and reached 3.5 million people. 70 percent of tourists ame from neighboring countries. The agency considers the 140-percent increase of tourists from Poland, Iran and Kazakhstan in this year as one of the main achievements.
