Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus distribute responsibilities within ECE

The presidents of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have taken another step towards the economic integration of their countries, after they signed a number of documents regulating the activities of the Eurasian Economic Commission at the meeting of the Supreme Economic Council of the ECE.

According to the chief editor of Vestnik Kavkaza, Alexei Vlasov, the ECE has a strong supranational government, which is created within the Eurasian economic project. Vlasov stresed that the role model for the organization is the EU. Officials, members of the ECE will conduct specific job assignements, which will be divided between the three countries. For example, Kazakhstan will deal with financial monitoring, Russian Federation - with macroeconomics and strategy development, etc.


Viktor Khristenko  was appointed as chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission appointed. According to Vlasov, he will determine the political significance of new organization.
