EU supports Georgia in overcoming the difficulties associated with displaced persons. A few days ago the EU paid into the state budget of Georgia 26.2 million euros, Trend was told by a EU representative in Georgia.
The financial assistance is provided to the government of Georgia in order to support the forced displaced persons, and facilitate finding solutions to the resettlement of refugee families and the construction of new apartments in Poti, Batumi and Tskhaltubo.
The EU has also allocated 5.1 million euros to support the education sector in Georgia.
