The Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Hungary's Isotope Institute signed a tripartite agreement on sterilization unit, Trend reports.
According to the agreement, this sterilization unit will be ready by the end of the next year, director of the radiation problems institute of the ANAS Adil Garibov told Trend Wednesday.
Before the transfer of the unit Azerbaijan needs to construct an administrative building for it, Garibov said. He mentioned that after the end of the construction the unit will be transferred to Azerbaijan.
Sterilization unit's installation is carried out within the framework of the joint project of Azerbaijan and the IAEA. Azerbaijan will be the first country in the region to use sterilization unit.
