The Managing Director of the Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH, Reinhard Mitchek, said that the consortium is to choose a pipeline for the Shah Deniz gas condensate field as soon as possible, Trend reports.
The Nabucco pipeline will be ready by the start of the second stage of Shah Deniz development. Mitchek underlined that the legal aspect of the project is based on the ratified intergovernmental deal on support for the project.
The Nabucco project is to transport gas from the Caspian region and the Middle East to EU states. Construction of the pipeline is to start in 2013, the first gas supplies are expected in 2017.
