Azerbaijan has started preparations to launch a second space satellite, 1news.azcites Minister for Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov.
The minister reported that the satellite may be launched next year if the process is active enough.
Rent of one megabyte of the first Azerbaijani satellite will cost $350, Abbasov said on Friday. The figure is based on the risks, because the market prices for renting a megabyte from some other satellites is $450-500.
The satellite is using the Ku-bend and C-bend transponders.
Exploitation of the first satellite is going according to schedule. The second satellite is being worked on.
