Iranian and Armenian presidents note increase in trade turnover

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is on a visit to Yerevan, where he met his Armenian counterpart, Serzh Sargsyan. The sides discussed bilateral relations, exports of Iranian petroleum products to Armenia and construction of motorways and railways, Iran News reports.


Trade turnover increased from $270 million to $300 million in 2011.


The presidents emphasized that Iran and Armenia are strategic partners without border disagreements. The two states have old cultural and historic ties. Sargsyan and Ahmadinejad noted the importance of constructing a highway to connect with Iran and increase commercial ties.


The two presidents discussed extension of cooperation in cinematography and joint making of TV series.
