Turkey and Azerbaijan will sign a cooperation memorandum for establishment of a consortium to build a pipeline to transport gas from the Shah Deniz Field in Azerbaijan through Turkey on Monday, Bloomberg reports.
The consortium will be formed by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), Botas (Turkish state operator of pipelines) and Turkiye Petrolleri. Other petroleum companies may join the consortium in the future.
The memorandum will be signed by Azerbaijani and Turkish Energy Ministers Natik Aliyev and Taner Yildiz.
The Azerbaijani-Turkish Trans Anadolu gas pipeline (TANAP) will run from the eastern to the western border of Turkey.
