Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that the state achieved success in realizing projects of regional energy and logistical infrastructure in 2011, Trend reports.
He noted that Azerbaijan is rich in natural resources and had become part of the world energy system. It produces and exports resources and is a transit state.
Azerbaijan is diversifying its presence on world markets and improving transit. The minister pointed out construction of the Baku-Supsa and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipelines and the South Caucasus Gas Corridor as part of European and global energy security.
Mammadyarov reminded about construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway connecting Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia. Azerbaijan and Turkey signed a set of documents on purchase, sales and transit of gas and a cooperation memorandum on construction of the Trans-Anatolia Gas Pipeline.
