Intellectual Transport Management Center opened in Baku

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev opened the Intellectual Transport Management Center in Baku today, Trend reports on Thursday.

President Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center.

Transport Minister Zia Mammadov told President Aliyev the 5-storyed Center includes a modern server, 18 sets of network equipment and a 120-sq m monitor.

President Ilham Aliyev inspected the intellectual control room. He was told the world`s biggest monitor, reflecting 600 digital images, had been installed at the center. The monitor displays real-time information at 150 intersections and management of 2,000 buses.

The Center works in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs in crime prevention.

The facility will also monitor the stills captured by 600 video cameras of the ministry.

President Aliyev also viewed the equipment used in the intellectual transport management system. The terminals established at bus-stops provide information about bus schedules and the times of their arrival. The equipment for the management of traffic lights serves to regulate road traffic. The single payment system to be used on public transport will significantly enhance passenger comfort.
