The total turnover of transactions on all trading areas of the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) in 2011 amounted to 8.43 billion manats, increasing turnover 378%compared to 2010, Trend cites the exchange as saying in a statement issued on Thursday.
The market for corporate securities increased 240% compared to 2010, amounting to 1.712 billion manats. It is due to increased volume of transactions in corporate bonds by 270%.
The government securities market has grown by a factor of 4.4, reaching 6.7 billion manats. This is due to a nearly sevenfold increase in repo transactions and a 2.85-fold increase in transactions with Central Bank notes and the number of transactions in these areas increased by 190% and 170% respectively.
