Statoil discovers hydrocarbon reserves in Barents Sea

Statoil (Norway) announced the discovery of a oil reserves in the Barents Sea. The Havis Field has about 200-300 million barrels of oil, RIA Novosti reports.

This is the second significant field found in the Barents Sea in the last 9 months with reserves similar to that of the Skrugard Field, President and Chief Executive Director of the Statoil SAS, Helge Lund said, RIA Novosti reports.

The reserves are located 7 km south-west of the Skrugard Field, which was discovered in April 2011.
