Head of Adjaran government Levan Varshalomidze and Azerbaijan's Consul General Huseyn Najafov discussed a plan of cooperation between Adjara and Azerbaijani regions during a meeting in Batumi, Trend reports.
As the Adjaran government told Trend, a delegation of Nakhichivan will arrive in Adjara in late January.
At the meeting new regional director of SOCAR Farid Mammadov was introduced to Varshalomidze. He stressed that the company intends to expand its activities in Adjara in 2012.
In turn, Varshalomidze stressed that the Autonomous Republic's leadership welcomes foreign investments in Adjara, including Azerbaijani investments that enables the region to rapidly develop.
