Ukraine and Azerbaijan will sign documents for establishment of a joint venture for gas transport at the investment forum in Davos on January 25-26, Trend reports.
Vladimir Kaskov, head of the State Agency for Investments and Management of National Projects, said that the documents had been initialled and await realization. The documents include a deal on gas transport to the LNG terminal and a deal on formation of a Ukrainian-Azerbaijani company for development of a project to realize the initiative.
The document will be signed by the Energy Ministries of the two states. A project will be developed to construct the LNG terminal. The document for construction of the terminal will be signed by the Agency for Investments and Management of National Projects and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR).
Kaskov added that feasibility studies of the project will be completed by Socoin (Spain) in 3-4 weeks. The terminal’s cost dropped from $1.5 billion to $1 billion.
After construction of the marine terminal, Ukraine will be able to diversify 10 billion cubic meters of gas supplies.
