Ukraine halves oil imports from Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan imported 704,700 tons of oil to Ukraine in 2011, a drop of 56.3% compared with volumes in 2010, ITAR-TASS reports.

Ukrainian refineries reduced oil imports from Russia by 21.5% to 4.7 million tons, compared with 2010.

The Lysychansk refinery of THK-BP remains the main importer of Russian oil in Ukraine. It purchases oil from Kazakhstan and Ukraine as well. The Kremenchug refinery uses oil from Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Fuel production dropped.

Ukraine reduced gasoline production in 2011 by 8% to 2.8 million tons, diesel fuel – by 21.4% to 2.6 million tons, oil fuel by 11.6% to 2 million tons.
