Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are discussing supplies of Azerbaijani oil products, Zhumakadyr Akeneyev, head of the Association of Oil Trades of Kyrgyzstan, said on Wednesday, Trend reports.
Rovnag Abdullayev, head of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) is holding talks in Bishkek. The sides are discussing oil supplies for Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan wants a reconsideration of petroleum prices.
Akaneyev said earlier that Azerbaijan may supply Kyrgyzstan with 300,000 tons of petroleum annually. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan has deals with Russia to diversify fuel sources. Akeneyev believes that a joint venture may be formed for direct petroleum supplies to the republic. Kyrgyzstan needs a million tons of petroleum in 2012.
