The Georgian National Statistical Service has updated its consumer basket, used for the calculation of consumer prices, Business Georgia reports.
The previous update took place in 2010. The new consumer basket of 2012 will base on consumer structure determined by the national accounts system. Balance gained from national accounts is one of the main recommendations of the European Union in forming the basket.
The consumer basket reflects the structure of people's expenses, making it a more reliable indicator of consumer prices - an indicator of inflation.
