Vagif Sharifov: New agreement between "Gazprom" and SOCAR confirms effectiveness of cooperation between companies

In 2012, the Russian company "Gazprom" will purchase 3 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijani company SOCAR. As previously reported by Vestnik Kavkaza, a supplementary agreement to the existing contract was signed by the heads of the companies, Alexei Miller and Rovnag Abdullayev. The document was signed in Sochi in the presence of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, Ilham Aliyev and Dmitry Medvedev.

An expert of the international news agency "Trend", Vagif Sharifov, told Vestnik Kavkaza that the new Russian-Azerbaijani agreement proves the effectiveness of cooperation between the countries. He also noted that, given the volume of Azerbaijani gas production, the export of Azerbaijani gas to Russia will in no way affect the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Georgia, Turkey and Iran.
