Rovnag Abdullayev, President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), has commented on the signing of the fifth deal on purchase and sales of gas with Gazprom-export (Russia). The official said that the two companies have been exchanging gas for years and increase volumes annually.
The new gas deal will regulate the volumes for 2012. Gazprom wants to buy additional 1 billion cubic meters of gas, totaling 3 billion cubic meters. The deal benefits SOCAR by increasing sales of gas, Abdullayev said, AzerTAG reports.
