Rostelecom, Russia’s largest operator of TV communications, has purchased 75% of shares of GNC-Alfa, Armenia’s largest Internet operator, for $22.5 million, RIA Novosti reports.
The purchase was made by a subsidiary of Rostelecom, Teleset Networks LTD, as part of the strategy of international development, Rostelecom President Alexander Provotorov says. It was the first purchase of the company abroad.
Purchasing GNC-Alfa allows Rostelecom to offer broadband Internet services and digital TV in Armenia with potential for further development.
