Turkey plans to restore gas supplies to Greece, News Georgia cites Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz as saying.

BP Azerbaijan, technical operator of Shah Deniz, said that oil extraction was halted by the automatic energy system. All four boreholes were shut down, News Azerbaijan reports.

Turkey receives 6.6 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz annually as part of the first stage of development. Azerbaijan and Turkey signed a gas contract providing Turkey with 6 billion more cubic meters of gas as part of the second stage of Shah Deniz development in October 2011.

A contract on the development of Shah Deniz was signed in June 1996. Its shareholders are BP and Statoil with 25.5% of shares each, SOCAR, NICO, Total and LUKOIL with 10% each and TPAO with 9%. About 25 million cubic meters of gas are extracted daily. Greece receives 800 million cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas through Turkey.
