Ice no longer threatens Azerbaijani platforms in Caspian Sea

Weather conditions facilitated the slowing of the movement of ice blocks
in the Caspian Sea, APA reports, quoting the Acting Director of the National
Hydro-meteorological Department of the Ministry of Environment and Natural
Resources (MENR) of Azerbaijan, Rzu Makhmudov. Makhmudov said that
favourable air temperatures stopped the process of glaciation in the
Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Only at a distance of 100-150 meters
from the shore are there small islands of ice.

Makhmudov also noted that the movement of ice blocks is no longer a danger
to the oil platforms.
