Azerbaijan used 48.8% of its fishing quota in the Caspian Sea in 2011, ABC.az reports.
The Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee said that 141 individuals and legal bodies had a quota for 2174 tons of fish, while only 1061 tons were caught. This includes 485 tons of sprat, 152 tons of herring, 139 tons of mullet, 72 tons of bream, 82 tons of cisco.
Quota purchasers paid 19,400 manats.
