Editor-in-chief of Echo Moskvy summoned by prosecutor

Alexey Venediktov, Editor-in-Chief of Echo Moskvy radio, said that he was summoned to the Presnenskaya Prosecutor’s Office on the complaint of a local from Tambov, RIA Novosti reports.

Venediktov said on Twitter that Echo Moskvy was accused of violating the Labour Code.

Venediktov, his deputy Vladimir Varfolomeyev and two independent directors, Yevgeny Yasin and Alexander Makovsky, are dismissed from the radio station, as stated on Tuesday. The dismissal was initiated by owners of the media resource. Gazprom-Media holds 66% of shares of Echo Moskvy.
