Iranian companies are negotiating grain purchases for rubles with Russia, RBC reports.
The initiative is to bypass sanctions against Iran. The Islamic Republic is trying to purchase wheat and corn, it also plans to make wheat purchases via third states.
Iran halted grain purchases, mainly from Ukraine and Russia, on February 2, 2012. EU and US sanctions prevent banks from servicing Iran.
