Azerbaijan spent over $50 million on an improvement of its water supply in 2011, ABC reports.
Azersu, the national operator of water supply, said that they are continuing the successful realization of project to improve water supply and sewer systems in all regions with assistance of international financial institutions.
The World Bank, Asian Development Bank, German Development Bank KfW and other international financial institutions issued $35 million for joint projects. Water supply systems and sewers were reconstructed in Ganja, Sheki, Shemakha, Gabala, Agdash and Goychay.
