1.384 billion barrels of oil pumped through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline

Botas International Limited (BIL), operator of the Turkish part of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline, has published details on oil pumping from the terminal in Ceyhan, 1news.az reports.

1790 tankers transported oil from June 2, 2006 to February 24, 2012. About 1.384 billion barrels of oil have been brought.

BTC is used to pump oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field and the Shah Denis gas condensate area of the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Turkmenistan has been using the pipeline, basing on agreements reached in July 2010. There are deals with Kazakhstan as well. BTC has a cap of 1.2 million barrels of oil daily. BTC Co. shareholders are BP (30.1%), AzBTC (25%), Chevron (8.9%), Statoil (8.71%), TPAO (6.53%), ENI (5%), Total (5%), Itochu (3.4%), INPEX (2.5%), ConocoPhillips (2.5%) and Hess (2.36%).
