Russia expects Iran to answer all IAEA’s questions

Russia expects Iran to answer all the IAEA’s questions about its nuclear program, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, RIA Novosti reports.

The minister emphasized that states need to be confident that the nuclear program is of a peaceful nature. He added that clarifications will allow Iran to be a fully-fledged member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Lavrov says that Iran seems to be willing to fulfil the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the IAEA.

Commenting on Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s article on Iran’s right to the peaceful atom, Lavrov said that the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty provides for such a right.
